Legal Shield Protect Ltd. was set up in 2015 in anticipation of the need for a legal entity capable of providing the After the Event (ATE) and Before the Event (BTE) indemnity for a large number of Mortgage Securitisation Claims  (MSC’s).

During the period to date, matters have progressed where the current indemnity requirement is now only for the initial legal expenses/disbursements to be indemnified, and due to the length of time the previous company was dormant, it was closed down in September 2025, and re-formed on 19th January 2026 with this new entity being under Co. No: 16972717.

This new entity is being registered as a Protected Cell Captive (PCC) in either the Cayman Islands or Guernsey, and will shortly be able to access the global ‘A’ rated reinsurance markets later in 2026.
